  • Web app at work

Hey everyone! I’ve been tasked with rebuilding the user interface for our web app at work, and I quickly realized there’s way more to front‑end development than I expected. Things like responsive design, accessibility, animations, and making sure everything feels smooth on both desktop and mobile have been a real challenge. While I was looking for approaches and best practices, I found this page about front‑end development services that breaks down common workflows and things to consider: https://sam-solutions.com/services/f...ment-services/. Has anyone here gone through a similar UI revamp? What helped you ensure the app looked good and performed well across different devices?

Totally feel you! On a recent project, we had to completely modernize an old interface, and performance ended up being the trickiest part — especially on slower devices. What helped us a lot was splitting the UI into reusable components and lazy‑loading parts of the page that weren’t needed right away. Using browser dev tools to check paint times and layout shifts gave us real insight into what needed to be optimized. Tight collaboration with designers also made sure the visuals matched the technical plan.

Just jumping in — I’m not a front‑ender, but I use lots of web apps every day and can definitely tell when something feels sluggish or cluttered. It sounds like taking time to plan out how elements behave on various screens and testing thoroughly goes a long way. Loving interfaces that feel smooth makes a huge difference in everyday use — especially on phones!
