I’ve been experimenting with them lately, mostly for snacks and some loose tea I buy in bulk. At first, I thought they were just fancy ziplock bags, but they actually do a way better job at keeping things fresh. I sealed a batch of dried fruit in one, forgot about it for a couple of months, and when I opened it again, it still tasted like the day I packed it. Pretty impressed with that.
I did run into a small learning curve, though some of the thinner bags tear way too easily if you overfill them. The thicker ones with resealable zips are way sturdier. I also started labeling them with a marker to keep track of dates, which has been super handy. Found a random guide on sealing tips that helped me figure it out.
Curious if anyone else uses custom Mylar bags at home. Do you mostly use them for food, or for other stuff like herbs, seeds, or even non-food storage?
